Endure suffering along with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4 And as Christ's soldier, do not let yourself become tied up in the affairs of this life, for then you cannot satisfy the one who has enlisted you in his army. 5 Follow the Lord's rules for doing his work, just as an athlete either follows the rules or is disqualified and wins no prize.  

~2 Timothy 2-5

1 – Good soldiers endure suffering  

.

And as Christ's soldier, do not let yourself become tied up in the affairs of this life, for then you cannot satisfy the one who has enlisted you in his army.  

~2 Timothy 2:4

2 – Good soldiers don’t get confused about their mission  

.

Follow the Lord's rules for doing his work, just as an athlete either follows the rules or is disqualified and wins no prize.  

~2 Timothy 2:5

3 – Good soldiers follow the rules    

.

So don't bother rebuking mockers; they will only hate you. But the wise, when rebuked, will love you all the more.

~Proverbs 9:8

.

God says to live holy not to prevent us from having any fun but to keep us from harm – the Christian life is the fun life – the good life…

.

So, you have to endure hard times, you can’t get confused about your mission and you have to follow the rules – but before you can do any of that you have to be in the Lord’s Army

Look unto me, and be saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

~Isaiah 45:22

Come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

    ~Matthew 11:28
